Nob Hill Jewel Box
A classic 1920's building on San Francisco's Nob Hill houses this jewel box of an apartment. At a mere 550 square feet, Georgina Rice & Co. gutted and redesigned the entire space. Darkness was required by the light-sensitive client, and deep, almost black green paint adorns the main room, or Salon, which functions as both a living room and bedroom. Gilded eighteenth-century French furnishings gleam against the elegant backdrop. A luxurious sleeping area is outfitted with wall upholstery, an upholstered headboard, and rich damask bedding and can be closed off behind mirrored doors. In the kitchen, an under-counter fridge and freezer was installed to gain maximum counter space.
